TRH Psychology and Cultural Consultancy Service is a leading NDIS provider for the Newcastle, Hunter, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and Tweed regions with a reputation as a successful trauma-informed therapeutic care organisation. In partnership with We Care NSW 'We' focus on providing our clients and communities with high quality and culturally appropriate services that have a real impact on contributing to supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and to build their capacity to participate fully in their community, education, employment and cultural activities.

Together we provide tailored NDIS psychosocial services including:

• Social and Civic participation
• Core support to assist individuals in building their capacity to attend to activities of daily living
• Accommodation to support individuals to live independently in the community
• Specialist Allied Health assessment and treatment services, specialist behaviour support to assist with the development
• Support to build, maintain and improve your relationships with friends, family and other key support services in your life including school, TAFE and providers of housing
• Support to connect with and coordinate the implementation of your NDIS plan and fee for service assessments including multi-disciplinary assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Assessments.

We provide supports to all members of the community and aim to be a provider of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people. This support extends to providing support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to transition onto the NDIS. We are fortunate to have the support of a number of Aboriginal services and the support of an Aboriginal workforce to support us in meeting this area of focus.

Our Story

In 2014 TRH Psychology and Cultural Consultancy Service (TRH) was formed to meet the growing need of people living with a disability and importantly to be part of a solution to improve the quality and experience of care for community members accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

For too long we were receiving feedback from community members who felt they were being treated like a number and that their support worker had not taken the time to get to know them as person first with hopes, dreams, aspirations and a lived experience of trauma, mental health or a disability.

Consistent with this feedback the key principles which underpin our service delivery were realised:

1. WE are there first because We Care – this principle acknowledges that providing quality, safe and trauma informed care is the primary focus of TRH Psychology and Cultural Consultancy Service and We Care NSW employees
2. WE deliver by being true to our word and being on time

Whilst these values appear simplistic, We believe that these core principles must always underpin disability services and when in action these principles both respect and value the lives of people living with a disability.

In 2018 the core guiding principle of 'We Care' NSW was selected as the services name and a partnership with TRH Psychology and Cultural Consultancy Service began. We believe that this serves importantly to remind our organisation, participants, stakeholders and the community what we stand for and importantly our service guarantee.

We further acknowledge that we can truly create change when We work together and our impact is limited when working as an individual.
